THE BEGINNING
Kaleidoscope Apothecary, LLC is the daughter of our family business, Magical Delights in many ways.
We have been creating beautiful crystal jewelry for more than 30 years. We started out in the living room in Wausau, Wi making kaleidoscopes and magic wands. Family and friends came and went as designers over the years, and the designs flowed and changed into what we have now. Creating these pieces takes a great bit of practice. It's not a technique easily taught. All of the pieces are one-of-a-kind. We use semi-precious gemstones and crystals, sterling silver and 14k gold fill metals in a very unique jewelry making process. We make bracelets, pendants, wearable wands, show piece/tool wands, earrings and "finger bracelets" (finitely adjustable rings). Kaleidoscope Apothecary is the exclusive Magical Delights retail location in the Midwest. While we will be offering our one-of-a-kind jewelry, Kaleidoscope Apothecary will also be offering a wide selection of gems and minerals, tropical and native plants, cold-press organic juices, smoothies, teas and many other enchantments.
We are proud to help other local artists and artisans showcase their wonders as well. There are so many inspiring and creative people in our community as well as surrounding areas. Real things made by real people with love and intention.
We finally found a location in Onalaska, WI that felt like a good place to 'set up shop'. It has been an interesting process, and we are learning a lot as we move forward. We have met some amazing people from the community and it's exciting to watch how this 'destination' shop is unfolding. People ask me why we decided to have all of these different aspects of Kaleidoscope Apothecary. I mean really!? plants, rocks, art and juice...are you nuts!? I don't have the answer to that really, other than that it just felt necessary and like the right thing to do. Maybe it was a persistent magical fairy sitting on my shoulder?
Our intention is to provide the beautiful Driftless Region with nutritional options of real, living drinks but also to nurture the mind and spirit with artfully inspired creations by people from nature, and by nature itself.

Because many of our items are one-of-a-kind, it is more effective to give us a call or stop in the store to check availability and to make purchases. We have much more to offer in store than what we can post on the website. While shopping online can be a convenience, one important reason we opened a physical store is so that people can gather and take in the beauty of nature's creations...and the things people make from them.

FUN FACTS
Our Goodnature hydraulic (or pneumatic) cold press juicer sets the industry standard with over 99% output of juice, and less than 1% of pulp. This allows the longest shelf life of around 4 to 5 days due to its minimal heat and oxidation. Our cold-pressed juices are made using a hydraulic press to extract the juice from a variety of fruits and vegetables. This method keeps more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytonutrients in your juice, resulting in a healthier you!
Why should you pass on any centrifuge, non-organic, frozen or HPP (high pressure processing) juices or smoothies? Glad you asked!
~ Centrifuge juice is meant to be consumed immediately because it leaves over 30% pulp which causes immediate oxidation and a loss of 30% nutrients.
~HPP is used to extend the shelf life of juice. This is the "cold-press" juice you see on the supermarket shelves. This pasteurization method kills at least 99.999% of the microorganisms that are found in juice. It kills enzymes essential for digestion, and creates heat which lowers the overall nutritional integrity by collapsing the cell structure of the produce.
~Masticating Juicers push fruits and vegetables through an auger and slowly squeezed it through a screen. This leaves high solids of indigestible fiber. It has more nutritional integrity than HPP, but is intended to be consumed immediately.
